The BKFA brings kayak anglers together as one recognised, responsible body to secure access to more fisheries nationwide. By uniting anglers under a single association, we give fisheries and landowners the confidence to open their waters to kayak fishing—safely, professionally, and with no added hassle.
Most predator fisheries benefit directly from kayak angling: low impact, catch-and-release fishing with minimal overheads and pure revenue for the venue. BKFA exists to make that opportunity simple and attractive.
How it works
BKFA is free to join and open to responsible kayak anglers using approved fishing kayaks and holding appropriate paddling insurance (such as Paddle UK / SWKA or equivalent).
As our membership grows, we approach fisheries as a single, organised association—demonstrating safety, professionalism, and clear financial benefit. This collective strength allows us to unlock waters that are often unavailable to individual anglers.
By joining BKFA you become part of a national group of kayak anglers working together to improve access to waters across the UK.
