Participation in kayak fishing and related activities carries inherent risks.

The British Kayak Fishing Association (BKFA) is an association that exists to represent and connect kayak anglers and to help secure access to fishing waters. BKFA does not organise, supervise, control, or manage individual fishing activities, sessions, or events unless explicitly stated.

All members participate in kayak fishing entirely at their own risk.

BKFA accepts no responsibility or liability for:

Personal injury, illness, or death
Loss of, or damage to, personal equipment or property
Accidents occurring on or off the water
Actions or omissions of individual members or third parties

Members are responsible for:
Ensuring they hold appropriate personal insurance (such as paddling or public liability insurance)
Using suitable, well-maintained fishing kayaks and safety equipment
Assessing conditions, venues, and risks before fishing
Complying with fishery rules, local laws, and access agreements

Access to fisheries introduced or negotiated by BKFA does not imply supervision, endorsement, or assumption of liability by the association. Any access is used at the member’s own discretion and risk.

By joining BKFA, members acknowledge and accept this disclaimer in full.
